The big story tonight is the Pelicans without Anthony Davis
Pelicans starters -Payton, Holiday, Moore, Randle, Mirotic
Jazz starters -Rubio, Mitchell, Ingles, Favors, Gobert
Keys for Jazz
1) Keeping Pels into halfcourt
2) Protect the rim defensively
3) Run opportunistically.

Jazz 12 Pelicans 11 with 6:24 left in 1st quarter
Pelicans getting to the rim. They score 2nd most at rim

Jazz 23 Pelicans 23 with 3:06 left in the 1st quarter
Nikola Mirotic 13 points on 5 of 6 shooting 3 of 3 from three
Rudy Gobert 6 points and 7 rebounds.
Jazz bench will need to win this game tonight. On the road that is not easy.

Jazz 41 Pelicans 35 with 7:09 left in the 2nd quarter
Georges Niang playing so well it is like there are two of him (haha)
He has been great. Hit a three. Drove and drew a foul. Super open floor defense on Holliday and got into Mirotic and denied him.

Jazz 41 Pelicans 35 with 7:09 left in 2nd quarter
Pace of play in this game is 110 possessions.
Last year Jazz played 96

Jazz 46 Pelicans 35 with 5:07 left in the 2nd quarter
Pelicans are 2 of 13 and 0 for 5 from three in the quarter
Jazz defensive rating right now is 80.6
Ricky Rubio who came into game 7 of 32 is 5 of 7

Halftime Jazz 64 Pelicans 49
Ricky Rubio has 20 points
Rudy Gobert with 16
Jazz are 15 of 22 in restricted area

Jazz 77 Pelicans 57 with 7:25 left in the 3rd quarter
Rudy Gobert is dunking and dunking and dunking and dunking
A lot of this is no Anthony Davis but the Pelicans were allowing opponents to shot 42% of their shots at the rim before the rim

Jazz 104 Pelicans 85 10:16 left in the 4th quarter
Pelicans have cleared the bench
Jazz doing the same progressively
Jazz v. Dallas tomorrow at 5pm

Jazz 106 Pelicans 92 with 8:20 left
Not done yet. Pelicans making a little run with a lot of energy from the back of their bench. Jazz have gone back to Rubio, Mitchell, Crowder and Gobert with Grayson Allen

Final Score – Jazz 132 Pelicans 111

JAZZ GAME REWIND: 2nd Half propels Toronto past the youthful Jazz

The Jazz fell short in the second half as the Toronto defense shut the new-look Jazz down in route to cruising to an 114 – 82 Raptors victory. Lauri Markkanen shined for the Jazz with 20 points and 5 rebounds but the Raptors length and athleticism proved to be too much for the Jazz riding a dominant 3rd quarter to pull away from the Jazz who played well in the first half, only trailing by one.

Relive the game through the radio highlights. Voiced by Leif Thulin.
