Utah Jazz radio voice and Jazz NBA Insider, David Locke, sits down and talks with Tony Jones in the first of the summer interview series.

In today’s interview David and Tony talk about the Jazz brining the whole group back together, were there any other options for the Jazz, what preparation went into it for the front office.

Then Tony shares his insights into Derrick Favors free agency and how he came to the decision to stay in Utah.

David Locke enters his ninth year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Utah Jazz, having spent the majority of his career in radio in Salt Lake City and Seattle. In the summer of 2016, Locke created the Locked on Podcast Network which has podcast daily bite sized podcasts for every NBA and NFL team. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Locke graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. Locke and his wife have a son and a daughter.

    I don’t think Quin’s system is the reason the Jazz do better at the end of a season. Go back and look at the schedule, even under Jerry Sloan the games after the All Star break have just been easier historically for the Jazz. I’m hoping I’m wrong, but there’s a decent probability that we’ll be disappointed early in the season because our expectations are so high. The Jazz will come around by the end of the season though. They always do…call it the Ostertag Effect.

The Utah Jazz played their final game prior to the All-Star break and lost to the Golden State Warriors. The Jazz showed a lot of fight and grit. Two players in particular continue to be superb.

The Warriors also showed the World Champion approach and got brilliant stretches from Draymond Green and Steph Curry.
