The Utah Jazz swept the weekend and David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider wants to make sure we are all loving Rudy Gobert. Has Donovan Mitchell proving he is the point guard for the Utah Jazz? Is it good for the Jazz or just good for Donovan? Then Locke takes a quick look at the rest of the NBA.

David Locke enters his ninth year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Utah Jazz, having spent the majority of his career in radio in Salt Lake City and Seattle. In the summer of 2016, Locke created the Locked on Podcast Network which has podcast daily bite sized podcasts for every NBA and NFL team. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Locke graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. Locke and his wife have a son and a daughter.

    Rudy is absolutely a top 10 player. Offense is wonderful but is unfairly weighted to heavily when considering top 10 players. If the argument is – down by 2 with 5 seconds left in the game you give it to player X and clear out and let them do their thing. I counter that with well up by 2 with 5 seconds left don’t you want the best defender on the planet anchoring your team?

    The down by 2 scenario got me thinking… I would imagine a lob to Rudy would be about as hard to defend as scheming for any play knowing the other teams star is getting the ball.
