David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, brings you the daily podcast on the Utah Jazz, Locked On Jazz. On today’s edition of the show Locke trys to understand how ESPN can rank Rudy Gobert the 25th best player in the NBA. Locke reviews all the impacts Rudy Gobert has on the game and the most important one of all, winning. If you put changed out Rudy Gobert for the players ahead how often would the Utah Jazz actually win more games?

Then Locke digs into the interesting comparison of Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Which one of these players should be ranked the highest. Locke compares their numbers and it gets really hard to decipher. Donovan’s ability to play point guard might be the difference in giving him an edge.

Then Locke touches on why the team is heading to Las Vegas and what they hope to accomplish in training camp,

David Locke enters his ninth year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Utah Jazz, having spent the majority of his career in radio in Salt Lake City and Seattle. In the summer of 2016, Locke created the Locked on Podcast Network which has podcast daily bite sized podcasts for every NBA and NFL team. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Locke graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. Locke and his wife have a son and a daughter.

Good script vs. bad script, where did offense go in Los Angeles and two contrasting plays

The Utah Jazz had the perfect script in Denver. The Jazz were rested the Nuggets were on a back to back. The Jazz had had 3 practice days and were coming off a 4 game losing streak whereas the Nuggets had won the last one out by 37 and were feeling good. Then the Jazz went to Los Angeles and the Lakers had lost 3 in a row, had had two spirited film sessions and practices and the Jazz were on a back to back coming off a big win. The good script and the bad script and the games followed suit.
