Utah Jazz
TWITTER THREAD – Running through the ups and down with the @lockedonsports twitter thread

Underway for game #5 of the Jazz and the Thunder.
Really sloppy start. Jazz have 4 turnovers. The Thunder have made a change defensively and the Jazz don’t seem to be clear where the open pass is. Thunder 2 of 9 Jazz 3 of 9 but Thunder lead 7-6
Out of the first time out of the game the Jazz seem to have reacted to the Thunder trapping defense and are getting wide open three point looks. Crowder hits 2 from corner and one from the top and Ingles hits a corner 3 – Jazz 25 Thunder 19
Russell Westbrook is 2 for 6. This is the best reality TV
Shootout late in the quarter as the Jazz lead it after 1 quarter 34-29 – Jae Crowder got going and has 15 points on 4 of 5 threes. Offensive Rating 141 Defensive Rating 120
Ricky Rubio is playing in his first playoff series and his brilliance of the understanding the game the opponents plan shows each night and is increasing as the series goes on
Russell Westbrook last year took 24 shots a game. This year he was at 20 and has been at 21 in the playoffs. Last year, in the playoffs he took over 30 a game. Tonight he is 4 for 11 in 14 minutes. What number will he hit?
Jazz have gotten rolling. The Thunder ball movement has stopped and Westbrook is unaware of teammates. Jazz lead it 52-37 with 3:24 left in 2nd quarter
Incredible half by the Jazz. The defense is incredible. Thunder were 6 of 23 in the 2nd quater and 0 for 6 from three. They had 2 assists. Westbrook was 3 for 10 in the 3rd quarter. Jazz lead it 56 to 41
Jazz defensive rating is an 82 at the half
11th best defensive 1st half of the season by the Jazz
Jae Crowder has set a Utah Jazz playoff record with 6 three-pointers in a game.
Jazz lead it 71-53 with 7:19 in the 3rd quarter
Holy Westbrook !!!! 20 points in the 3rd quarter. The building has exploded. Tied at 78 going to the 4th quarter. Jazz lead by 25. Jazz offense isn’t dealing with the Thunder switching. Worth noting Carmelo was not in the game
249 times this year a team lead by 25 they won all but 3. Thunder currently lead the Jazz 88-87 with 7:58 left. Gobert and Favors both with 5 fouls. Westbrook rolling with 36 points, Paul George 29 points.
Thunder defense is switching everything and it has completely stymied the Jazz offense. They have done this with Carmelo out of the game and he is checking in with 7:58 left.
Incredible effort by thunder. This is why they talk about close out games. Donovan Mitchell has been hit in the leg twice tonight and doesn’t seem to have lift right now. Thunder are switching and not leaving shooters. Forcing Jazz into isolation game
Russell Westbrook couldn’t have linked a worse sequence of basketball and then he hit two threes and it was on. The force, the energy, the passion, the determination is something we have never seen in the NBA while simultaneously never fatiguing. 45 points – 33 in 2nd half
Rudy Gobert was +7 in 30 minutes
Jazz lose 107-99 – Game 6 8:30 pm
The match-up was system v. stars. The Star came to play and will that one
Utah Jazz
Luka Doncic and Dallas made Phoenix look like Utah and it was a bad day for Centers

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks made the Phoenix Suns look the same way they made the Utah Jazz look. How did they do it? What does it mean for the Jazz and the Suns looking forward.
The Game 7 match-ups were a bad day for Centers in the NBA. Brook Lopez who had led the take away the rim style of NBA defense in Milwaukee had Grant Williams shooting 16 three point shots and the Celtics got the win. The Phoenix Suns #1 pick Deandre Ayton was played off the floor by the Dallas Mavericks as well as “internal” issues. Plus, the Mavericks 5 out drive offense makes it very hard for a center to defend on the perimeter.

Five off-season models for the Utah Jazz. Which do you prefer?

The Utah Jazz are confronting a pivotal off-season. How will they proceed? One school of thought, it has run its self out and to blow it all up? What benefit does that have? From there, there are three different approaches, trying to add a home run to the already set core of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Another approach would be to move the a bunch of pieces to add pieces and add depth. The final choose would be to narrow down to one of the core pieces are re-mold the franchise with that core piece. David Locke the radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider looks at all those options and sets the table for what the Utah Jazz can do.
