Were Donovan Mitchell’s shots bad or just hard, what is Derrick Favors roll and Synergy Numbers

Utah Jazz radio voice and Jazz NBA Insider David Locke delivers to you a daily podcast on the Utah Jazz with the insight you can’t get anywhere else.   Subscribe to LOCKED ON JAZZ on iTunes, Android, Spotify or listen on Alexa or Google Home.

Donovan Mitchell took 21 shots against the Philadelphia 76ers.  Locke took a look at all 21 shots and determined they are hard shots, not bad shots.

Derrick Favors roll with the Jazz seems undefined right now.   What can the Jazz do to use him to his best set of talents?  This far he is just 9 of 20 as the roll man on pick and roll.  Locke has an idea on how to get Favors back into the roll game and use him differently in the rotation.

A look at Synergy numbers shows some of the limitations of the offense and how it is hard to make some of the best plays work.   Locke discovers a strange aspect of Rodney Hood’s shooting chart and how it impacts the Jazz offensive pick and roll with Ricky Rubio and Rudy Gobert.

Then a collection of really good questions from the Facebook Live Audience

The show is brought to you by Shamrock Auto Group, the Utah Advocates and Grip 6.
