Where was the defense in Portland? Jazz need to find a mind-set and Thabo on Culture Code

The Utah Jazz played their 4th pre-season game in Portland last night and while they won the call card of the franchise its defense was non-existent. Why were the Jazz so weak defensively and how concerning should it be? David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, thinks it is a bigger issue for the Utah Jazz.

Last year, when the Jazz made the run to the playoff their was a desperation and an urgency that any loss would knock them out of the playoffs. That intensity can’t be replicated for an 82 game schedule. So what do the Jazz do to create the same urgency and focus, what do they use to place their stake in the ground.

An early look at the rotation shows that Grayson Allen might not be in the regular 10 man rotation.

David Locke enters his ninth year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Utah Jazz, having spent the majority of his career in radio in Salt Lake City and Seattle. In the summer of 2016, Locke created the Locked on Podcast Network which has podcast daily bite sized podcasts for every NBA and NFL team. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Locke graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. Locke and his wife have a son and a daughter.

The Utah Jazz played their final game prior to the All-Star break and lost to the Golden State Warriors. The Jazz showed a lot of fight and grit. Two players in particular continue to be superb.

The Warriors also showed the World Champion approach and got brilliant stretches from Draymond Green and Steph Curry.
