Getting ready for Game #4.

Key thing to watch. Rockets defense was #2 in the NBA after they made a shot and in the series the Jazz are only scoring .89 points per possession after a Rockets make. 1.06 after a Rockets make and 1.61 after a turnover

Incredible energy early on both side. Rockets are far and away best 1st quarter team in the NBA . Outscoring opponents by 17 per 100 possessions in 1st quarter. Have lead by 10 or more in 34 1st Qs. Rockets 15 Jazz 10

Rockets lead it 40-28. The mismatch right now is the Jazz 16th ranked offense v. Rockets 6th ranked defense. Jazz defense is forcing Rockets into the shots they want (they are making some) but offense can’t get looks

The effort and energy tonight on both sides is awesome. Rockets lead it 40-28. Right now Rockets look like a team that won 65 games.

Go back to where we started tonight. Jazz offense against the Rockets set defense is getting nothing. Before tonight .89 pts per possession. But Rockets are not a good transition defense and Jazz getting out off misses. Rockets lead it 46-37 with 4:10 left in 2nd

Halftime – Rockets 58 Jazz 48 — Donovan Mitchell go rolling late in the 2nd quarter and finished the quarter with 13 points. The Rockets answering all of the Jazz surges Harden with 18, CP3 with 12.

Rockets took 1 shot in mid range non-paint in 2nd quarter and took 5 shots in paint non-restricted area. Rockets are 8 of 16 on non restricted area 2s. 16 more than they took in most games.
I’m sure someone can nitpick but I feel as though the Jazz are giving all they have right now. Still, trail by 10. This game is showing how good the Rockets are and how much more they have than years in the past.

Chris Paul is 8 of 11 on non restricted area 2s in this game. 55% on the season. Huge weapon Rockets didn’t have in years past
3:30 left in 3rd quarter with Rockets leading 74-57. Rockets defense has been the story of the last two games. Jazz offensive rating is 85.6. They simply are having a tough time on half-court sets. Rubio would help.

GRIT= resiliency and passion – #taknote #utahjazzbasketball

Rockets 83 Jazz 74 with 7:35. Clear Jazz know they are playing for their playoff lives. Chris Paul has 25 James Harden 21 – Donovan Mitchell 21 Ingles 13.

3:41 left Rockets 92 Jazz 82 – Royce O’Neale had a floater to cut it to 5 and it didn’t go Rockets surge back the other way and Trevor Ariza hits a three to make a 10 point game.
Really interested to see what the crowd does if the Jazz lose this game and they might not see this team again this year. Will they get a chance to show the appreciation of this remarkable season?

Rockets win it 100-87. Rockets offense tonight had a 102 rating way below their season average. Jazz did all things they needed to win on defense. Stopped FB, quieted Gordon, limited three points shots. Rockets defense was the difference

JAZZ GAME REWIND: 2nd Half propels Toronto past the youthful Jazz

The Jazz fell short in the second half as the Toronto defense shut the new-look Jazz down in route to cruising to an 114 – 82 Raptors victory. Lauri Markkanen shined for the Jazz with 20 points and 5 rebounds but the Raptors length and athleticism proved to be too much for the Jazz riding a dominant 3rd quarter to pull away from the Jazz who played well in the first half, only trailing by one.

Relive the game through the radio highlights. Voiced by Leif Thulin.
